Terrafoundation

Terrafoundation is a collaborative cultural platform working to balance the relationships amongst humans, and between humanity and planet Earth. It is driven by the conviction that living culture is the path to deep and lasting transformation for the collective good.

In the face of increasingly urgent concerns about the effects of climate change, and the consequences of social injustice and economic disparity, Terrafoundation sees culture – the fourth pillar of sustainability – as a central tool in the work of redesigning radical new solutions for a dynamic social, economic, cultural and environmental ecosystem. 

Rooted in Portugal, Terrafoundation is a catalyst for change without borders.

In November 2022 Terrafoundation began its activities in the Comporta area, which runs from Tróia to Sines and extends inland. Its mission includes contributing to the protection of this unique area in Portugal, which is undergoing rapid development. This ecosystem has its own natural, wild, exceptional beauty, with a 60-kilometer coastline of white sand beaches and clear sea, and it is the responsibility of all humans who live here to guarantee sustainable development in constant dialogue and collaboration with the rest of the world.

The Terrafoundation Warm Up took place in the village of Carvalhal, municipality of Grândola, which has a privileged position between the dunes and the Atlantic, the rice fields and the lagoons.
